The
following forms and images represent Lark's expression of her
nearly 14 years in Kona and her love of Hula - largely ancient
Hula. She started painting watercolors in 1984 depicting Hawaiian
landscapes, glimpses of Hawaiian life, snapshots of what her
sensibilities would settle on. In 1990, Lark turned to sculpting,
her first love. Her initial pieces were done at the Instituto
Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico where she
was working on her MFA. Commissions crowded out her own work
for a time, but she is again pursuing her heart.
